Carolyn Hume first came to Westar in the mid 1980s, she made numerous visits with many artists, playing piano and keyboard. Her consummate skill and artistic flare combined with a great look made her much in demand. Throughout the 80s and 90s she appeared on many recordings playing with Essam Rashad, Mike Hume, Nick Paxford, Simon Luff, Mike Allan, Claudio, Russel Webb plus so many more at Westar Studios.
Since the late 90s until the present time she has appeared on many recordings and with her long time musical partner, Paul May on drums. Carolyn Hume has released eight albums since 2000 on ‘Leo Records’; six collaborations with Paul May and two solo albums featuring compositions for cello and voice. She has performed in Europe and the UK and also provided music for short films, including work by Sub Gravity Films, Pan MacMillan and ‘Elegy Japan’ with photographer Darron Davies. Her CV includes work with Oliver Coates, Sonia Hammond, Judie Tzuke, Patrick Dawes, Neil May, Russell Webb and John McGeoch. She has released on Leo Records, Forwind and The 52nd. Hume is a member of Fourth Page, alongside Paul May and Charlie Beresford.
